Program Curriculum

Hair Stylist Education

Our curriculum focuses on teaching you technical and creative skills from the ground up, building aptitude, confidence, and creative vision.

We elevate young stylists to encompass all the skills needed to be creative, forward-thinking and technically proficient hairdressers.  In our stylist program, students will learn to bring out the best in each individual guest’s personal style, and to successfully work with all hair types, textures, and shapes.

STYLING

In this section you will learn the fundamentals of blow drying, styling and setting hair. We focus on proper use of blow dryers, curling irons, brush technique and product usage. These lessons will enable you to better assist the stylists on the floor and to beautifully finish and control your work.

CUTTING

Our cutting program is based on strong technical foundations. The class begins with teaching shear usage, posture, and understanding and mastering hair shapes — one lengths, layers, graduation, etc. Once these techniques are understood, the focus shifts to advanced skills such as developing your eye and combining shapes to create unique looks. We will train you to give wearable, interesting, current, and flattering looks to every guest. We will also place an emphasis on proper procedure for weight removal and advanced techniques of disconnection and inverted shapes.

COLORING

Our coloring program begins in the 6th month of your cutting program. At this point, you will learn to understand the color wheel and color theory. You will learn the science behind making the right color choices and how hair color complements and works with your guest’s skin tone. From there we will focus on single process and creative colors for highlighting and hair painting.
