The SQN way of Educating

We elevate young stylists to encompass all the skills needed to be creative, forward-thinking and technically proficient hairdressers. In our stylist program, students will learn to bring out the best in each individual guest’s personal style, and to successfully work with all hair types, textures, and shapes.

Styling

In this section you will learn the fundamentals of blow drying, styling and setting hair. We focus on proper use of blow dryers, curling irons, brush technique and product usage. These lessons will enable you to beautifully finish and control your work.

Cutting

At Sine, we believe in strong technical foundations. We begin with proper shear usage, posture and understanding and mastering shapes and the geometry of hair. We then focus on advanced skills such as developing your eye and combining techniques to create unique looks. We place an emphasis on proper weight removal, inversions and advanced techniques such as disconnection and razor cutting.

Coloring

Our coloring program begins when you have tested through our haircutting curriculum and have earned your part-time chair on the floor. You will learn to understand the color wheel and color theory and the science behind making the right color choices. You will learn how hair color compliments your guest’s skin tone and how to place your color to achieve your desired result. Further techniques such as highlighting, balayage, vivids, and blonding will also be taught.

Policies

CANCELLATION AND PAYMENT POLICY
At Sine Qua Non, we know things happen. In order to ensure that we can accommodate all of our guests needs, we require that you give us at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

We are unable to hold any appointment without a valid credit card on file. If you cancel without 24 hours notice or no show for your appointment, a charge equal to 50% of your service and will be charged to your card.

ADJUSTMENT TO SERVICES POLICY
Our goal is complete happiness with your fresh cut and color. If you need an adjustment service, they are free within 2 weeks from your original appointment, preferably with your original stylist. If a refund is requested, our policy is: Call and schedule an assessment with management within 2 weeks of your service. You must come into the salon, so we can see the problem in person. If you received an adjustment at a different salon or cannot stop by so we can see your hair, we will not refund your services.

PRODUCT RETURN POLICY
It is important to us that you are totally happy with your purchase. Product returns must happen within 30 days of purchase, be accompanied by a store receipt (and we can view in your client file) and the product must be nearly full. If you paid by credit card, you may receive a credit on your card. We are a completely cashless business.

LATE POLICY
We are committed to giving you the best one-on-one service available. If you are more than 15 minutes late, and we are unable to give you the attention you deserve, we ask that you reschedule your appointment for another day or with an available stylist.
