My hair is terribly fine, and it's been difficult to find someone who knows how to work with this texture. A bob is best for my hair and after several years of lackluster and not inexpensive hair cuts, I finally googled "best bob in Chicago". That's how I found David Nolan at SINEe QUA NON West Town. He's an unusual combination of precision cutting with intense knowledge of what will or won't work for his clients. At this first appointment, he made a generous time investment in discusSINEg my facial structure, lifestyle, and my interest in changing my style. The end result was easily the best cut I've had in years. David makes his clients comfortable with intelligent conversation and doesn't push product...there's that fine line of suggesting product and pushing product. He doesn't cross that line. The salon is comfortable and beautiful...warm, laid back and is filled with a charming collection of art. The manager at the front desk is also warm and charming, offering a menu of beverages. (Recommending the herbal tea - so relaxing). Highly recommend this salon and stylist. You won't be disappointed!

Hands down, the best experience I have ever had at a salon. From check-in to haircut, I have never been happier. I called a couple days ahead because I was exhausted of main thing my very long hair and found myself only washing it monthly - don’t judge, it was A LOT to manage. I finally got fed up and did some searches and found SINEe QUA NON. They were able to squeeze me in on a Tuesday when I called on Saturday. The front desk staff is so friendly and welcoming and they give you options for a drink right when you walk in. Shortly after arriving, I was greeted by Libby, an absolute magician. She cut about 60% of my hair off and I’ve never felt more comfortable. It’s taken me about five years to do a proper chop and I could not have been liked with anyone greater (even though I’m sure everyone at this salon is amazing). I mean look at the change in my before and after! Long story short (like my hair haha), book an appt and make that change or simply keep up with the maintenance. You’re in the best hands - quite literally!

Policies

COVID SAFETY is our number one priority.
As the Delta variant becomes the dominant strain in Chicago, we encourage the wearing of masks. However, our current policy is, if you have proof of vaccination you can have a maskless service if you prefer. We will continue to update our policy as things develop.

CANCELLATION AND PAYMENT POLICY
At Sine Qua Non, we know things happen. In order to ensure that we can accommodate all of our guests needs, we require that you give us at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

We are unable to hold any appointment without a valid credit card on file. If you cancel without 24 hours notice or no show for your appointment, a charge equal to 50% of your service and will be charged to your card.

ADJUSTMENT TO SERVICES POLICY
Our goal is complete happiness with your fresh cut and color. If you need an adjustment service, they are free within 2 weeks from your original appointment, preferably with your original stylist. If a refund is requested, our policy is: Call and schedule an assessment with management within 2 weeks of your service. You must come into the salon, so we can see the problem in person. If you received an adjustment at a different salon or cannot stop by so we can see your hair, we will not refund your services.

PRODUCT RETURN POLICY
It is important to us that you are totally happy with your purchase. Product returns must happen within 30 days of purchase, be accompanied by a store receipt (and we can view in your client file) and the product must be nearly full. If you paid by credit card, you may receive a credit on your card. We are a completely cashless business.

LATE POLICY
We are committed to giving you the best one-on-one service available. If you are more than 15 minutes late, and we are unable to give you the attention you deserve, we ask that you reschedule your appointment for another day or with an available stylist.
