five favorites at sine qua non salon
It’s time once again to celebrate our Five Favorites at Sine Qua Non Salon! These eye-catching hairdos were more than just stylish– they were perfect examples of the artistry that goes into each cut, color and style, and of why we’re proud to say “I Am Sine!”
Leading the lineup this week was Lincoln Park/Andersonville stylist Jac, whose creative coloring and cutting skills blew us away! Her clients Jen and Gibson both underwent transformations resulting in edgy new looks. Pictured left is Jen sporting a modified bowl undercut. Jac freshened Jen’s color by going bleach blonde, and styled with R&Co‘s Mannequin Styling Paste for texture. On Gibson (pictured right), Jac cut an a-line bob and bleached and toned for that eye-popping violet. She used Bumble and bumble‘s Repair Blow Dry serum during styling to protect from heat and seal in Gibson’s ends after coloring. Nothing says fall like these fashion-forward ‘dos. Looking sharp, ladies!
In the spirit of fresh, new styles, Lakeview stylist Carrie gave her client Kristina a completely updated look! Kristina wanted to treat herself to something fun, and Carrie‘s shoulder-length, layered cut has modern written all over it. This soft layering and low-maintenance style is already growing in popularity for the fall season. Carrie kept the styling simple with Bumble and bumble‘s Grooming Creme, which can be used for air-drying, blow-drying, or detailing on finished hair — we love this product’s versatility. Kristina has a casual, lived-in texture and looks like a whole new woman!
Back in Andersonville, SQN Stylist Jennifer wowed us with a beautiful bridal updo. Erica, Jenny‘s client, had an asymmetrical, graduated bob with the shortest back layers measuring less than a pinkie finger! Ordinarily, a cut this short would stop a stylist in their tracks. Jennifer, however, rose to the challenge. She highlighted extensions to match Erica’s original color, and created a low bun updo out of them! Talk about innovative bridal beauty.
And speaking of short hair, Sine Qua Non‘s own social media guru, Maggie, got a chic update to her pixie cut this week with Lakeview/West Town stylist Sarah! Sarah gave Maggie an extra soft pixie to enhance her natural texture and fun style! For a lived-in look, Sarah used a combination of R and Co‘s Mannequin styling paste and Bumble and bumble‘s Grooming Creme. “It’s my new favorite product combo for my wavy clients!” says Sarah. We’ll be chronicling Maggie’s journey to grow out that pixie later this fall – check out the blog for updates!
Last but certainly not least, stylist Joseph at SQN Lincoln Park blew us away this week with a little grey bob on his client Miranda. Joseph worked with stylist Mischa to find the formula for this killer silvery-grey tone, used Olaplex to lift her color while maintaining the integrity of her hair. Joseph and gave Miranda an A-line bob haircut and styled her with a little of Aveda‘s Smooth Infusion style prep to get that shine. Metallic coloring is all the rage this season, and paired with Miranda’s cute bangs, this is a look that’s sure to turn heads!
