women’s history month- spotlight on the wonderful women who run sine
Happy Women’s History Month! As a woman owned business that just celebrated its 30-year anniversary, we wanted to take the time to give a shout out to the amazing, organized, passionate women who help our business thrive. First up, we wanted to share a bit about our owner: Laura Boton, who inspires us daily with her leadership.
Thirty years ago, Laura embarked on her business owner journey, opening up the first Sine Qua Non in Lincoln Park. She was featured in the Chicago Reader as one of Chicago’s “Top Young Stylists” and she’s done so much since then, cementing her as a powerhouse in hair, styling, and business. Laura’s goal was to create laid back and non-judgmental salon environments that would foster diverse and impeccable hair talent. Her goal came into fruition with her the 3 salons you know and love today, each containing their own vibrant energy.
Before spotlighting our fantastic salon managers, we wanted to share some exciting news! As business has continued to grow, we’ve recently welcomed back our beloved Regan Alanes to the team after her 5+ year leave. She will be helping Laura and the other managers with coaching, personnel, and more.
Our lovely Hillary who manages West Town will be celebrating her 13 year anniversary this year. When asked what she loves about Sine, she shared, “I love working at Sine because of the wonderful people who work here! Our little West Town community really lifts each other up and it’s a joy to experience.”
Our hardworking Lakeview manager, Vanessa, will be celebrating her 9 year anniversary with us this year! When asked what she loves about Sine, she said, “I love working at Sine because of the warm welcoming environment and getting to see stylists use their creativity to produce gorgeous looks!”
And last but certainly not least, our talented Andersonville manager, Jen, will celebrate her 5 year anniversary with us this year. When asked what she loves about Sine, she shared, “Laura B is a genuine advocate for her employees. I always feel supported and heard by her and other managers, and that makes the Sine team so much stronger!”
As you can see, our managers have stuck by our side for a long time and even those who pursue other paths sometimes come back to us – shoutout to Regan! 🙂 We can attribute our managers’ love for their work to our stylists, assistants, and clients who make Sine a kind, safe, and fun place to be!
