Salon owner, Laura Boton, opened Sine Qua Non 23 years ago today!

First and foremost, a huge thanks is in order to all of the fabulous clients who have loyally made Sine Qua Non their Chicago hair salon of choice over these past twenty-three years. We are beyond grateful for the community that you have helped us build and the relationships that you have helped us foster. At Sine Qua Non, the relationships between clients and stylists run deep; they are built on sincere trust and respect as well as satisfaction. We could not have made it this far without you and it is because of your salon loyalty and your generous referrals that we can continue to grow and change to meet your needs.

On that note, Sine Qua Non is delighted to move forward as a trio of salons serving three wonderful and distinct communities: Lakeview, West Town, and Andersonville. And while saying goodbye to our Lincoln Park location was a tad bittersweet, we now have greater time and energy to focus on our three salons, each of which boasts a unique aesthetic while upholding the sterling Sine Qua Non standard and reputation. Whether you are a veteran client at a particular location or you visit multiple, we are excited to continue making you feel welcome and beautiful.

After twenty-three years, we consider Sine Qua Non a revolving door of creativity. While most of our stylists have been with us many years–which gives us great pride in our salon culture–we enjoy keeping up with current trends and staying relevant in the world of hair of makeup. Our stylists continue their education and expand their expertise over the years in order to make sure that they are always on the cutting edge of contemporary style. We have and always will use and carry the best products possible. It is our promise that Sine Qua Non will perpetually evolve along with its clients, so here’s to another a great year!

Policies

CANCELLATION AND PAYMENT POLICY
At Sine Qua Non, we know things happen. In order to ensure that we can accommodate all of our guests needs, we require that you give us at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

We are unable to hold any appointment without a valid credit card on file. If you cancel without 24 hours notice or no show for your appointment, a charge equal to 50% of your service and will be charged to your card.

ADJUSTMENT TO SERVICES POLICY
Our goal is complete happiness with your fresh cut and color. If you need an adjustment service, they are free within 2 weeks from your original appointment, preferably with your original stylist. If a refund is requested, our policy is: Call and schedule an assessment with management within 2 weeks of your service. You must come into the salon, so we can see the problem in person. If you received an adjustment at a different salon or cannot stop by so we can see your hair, we will not refund your services.

PRODUCT RETURN POLICY
It is important to us that you are totally happy with your purchase. Product returns must happen within 30 days of purchase, be accompanied by a store receipt (and we can view in your client file) and the product must be nearly full. If you paid by credit card, you may receive a credit on your card. We are a completely cashless business.

LATE POLICY
We are committed to giving you the best one-on-one service available. If you are more than 15 minutes late, and we are unable to give you the attention you deserve, we ask that you reschedule your appointment for another day or with an available stylist.
